Review of "Deivathirumagal"
Hats off to Director Vijay for giving a movie about the love between a mentally challenged father and his daughter and a handshake for giving a 'clean' movie without tailing with love in spite of having two sensational, gorgeous actresses (Anushka & Amala Paul) in the film.
Santhanam excels in timing comedy. Second half is fast, absorbing, & satisfying. Many touching scenes too with relationship between Anushka & YGM, Vikram and his friends in shoe mart, love story of Anushka's assistant with her 'Romeo,' story telling scene. Photography is good particularly in Saindhavi's melodious song. GV Prakash has once again proved his mettle with songs and BGM.
Vikram has touched another peak with his performance. Anushka looks gorgeous than ever before. She has got a good role after Arundhathi & Vaanam. She justifies Director's choice in casting her as lawyer Anuradha. Amala Paul has nothing much to do. Nasser as 'Bhasyam' proves his capabilities and sensibilities when his child gets fever. Seeing a movie after longtime without love getting applause from the audience for many scenes - waiting for green signal, MS Bhaskar in kiln, to name some.
Only minus, I feel, is First half is in slow pace with repeats and the MS Bhaskar comedy is not working out that much. First half we cannot relate to the characters.
Don't miss. Even though it is a CUT & PASTE OF “I am sam.”
